Crack Climbing Clinic
Apr. 18-20, 2025
Indian Creek, UT
From Finger Cracks to Hand Stacks - Crack Climbing Demystified
Don’t avoid those pesky cracks forever - sink your fingers, feet, hands - and occasionally entire body - into the cracks and add essential new skills to your climbing repertoire. Unlocking crucial crack climbing techniques will allow you to take your climbing to the next level.
In addition to learning crack climbing techniques, we will cover gear placements, anchor building, and a general introduction to traditional climbing.

This clinic will cover the following skills:
Crack Climbing Technique: Understanding how to ascend various cracks leads to more adventure in the climbing world. Crack climbing is one of the most important skills needed to take on many of the classic traditional multi-pitch routes. We'll cover proper technique for each size of crack, focusing on body, foot and hand position to tackle all sizes of cracks efficiently.
Technical Aspects of Crack Climbing: We'll talk about anchor building, gear racking, route planning, equipment selection, shoe beta, and creating bomber tape gloves.
Mock Leads: Students will start with mock leads (and possibly lead traditional routes) during the clinic, with the presence of an instructor nearby on a fixed line to coach and make sure gear placements are secure.

Take your climbing to the next level!

Learn the Dark Art of Crack Climbing
Rockbound Adventures is proudly partnering with Moab Cliffs & Canyons to hold this clinic in Indian Creek, Utah - land of the splitter crack! This three-day immersive clinic is designed for all climbers - Beginner to Advanced - and will cover all crack sizes, anchor building, and mock leading. Our experienced instructors provide individual coaching based on your skill level - whether you are new to jamming or psyched to dial in your technique on more challenging crack sizes.
Whether you're just learning to hand jam, improving your finger-crack or offwidth technique, or building confidence on lead, this is the perfect opportunity to level up your crack climbing game in a supportive and hands-on environment. Some climbing experience, including knowing how to belay and basic climbing communication/commands, is required.
